A Photo Tour of Cundy's Harbor, Maine-Part 1

Come take a walk with me through Cundy's Harbor located in Harpswell Maine. This quaint town is an active lobstering community with many of its residents still working on the water. It's one of the few remaining waterfront communities in Maine where families still live and work year-round though the landscape is slowly changing as retirees relocate to the area because of it's lovely views and proximity to area amenities.

This cottage has a view looking straight up the harbor and was taken from Holbrook Street.

The main road through Cundy's Harbor is lined with beautiful antique homes.

At low tide its common to see dozens of harbor seals. Kayaks love this area because of its wildlife and interesting coastline to explore. (This photo was taken by Mike Timberlake)

Many of the homes along the road have historical markers.

The town has a beautiful Bed and Breakfast, The Captains Watch or as my mother grew up calling it, "The Hatch Mansion".

The newly renovated library has free wi-fi, children's reading room and a pretty waterfront picknic area to enjoy.

Hawkes' Lobster is a fun gift shop to visit, you can find locally hand carved items, tee-shirts and other fun items to remember your vacation.

Holbrook's is one of two restaurants in the Harbor. You'll enjoy delicous seafood on the wharf.

The Holbrook's House above was recently purchased by the Holbrook Community Foundation to protect its history in the Harbor. It's now home to a photography galllery.

Holbrook's General Store is the the second of two general stores in town. You can purchase beer, wine and food here in the summer time.
